The term Non-Native is a controversial one in English teaching circles – where it can feel like a way of grading teachers and overplaying the importance of native speech when it comes to language skills. So our company name is really a play on that and we are all about helping each other overcome language barriers and work as a team.
The company is a voluntary led group dedicated to supporting each other to organise on going training, events and work toward regular performances.
WHO: People who have completed at least one, full actEnglish course. People with English teaching or acting backgrounds who support our work.
OBJECTIVES: To perform 1 to 2 theatrical productions each year for invited audiences. To run and organise workshops and training (drama and language) to support members to achieve this.
WHERE: Cheap, supportive central locations.
WHEN: Meeting once or twice a month or more where necessary.
COSTS: Members to pay for room bookings and extra costs where necessary.
COMMITMENTS: Members can drop in and out of specific sessions but need to commit fully to productions in advance.
