actEnglish social events in London

As well as being a standard part of actEnglish courses, we organise regular outings to cultural events including low cost performances and plays at fringe and other small theatres. These are open to former students, members of the theatre company and new people just wanting to practice their English and meet people. It’s a great opportunity to discuss language, culture and theatre in a friendly informal environment and only costs you the price of the ticket!

UPCOMING EVENT – The Tricycle by Fernando Arrabal.

Where: Baron’s Court Theatre

When: Thursday January the 30th. 7:45pm.

What: The Tricycle by Fernando Arrabal is a strangely light-hearted tale of poverty and murder.

In this dark fairy tale, written in 1952, Climando together with his friends try to survive living as a homeless person in an unfair and incomprehensible world, hiring the Tricycle to give rides to children in the park.

What will happen when they cannot afford to pay the rent of the Tricycle?

This perfect example of Spanish Absurd Theatre questions the limits of freedom and the relationship between our acts and their consequences in a rotten society in which children have to commit sinister acts to survive.

Cost: £16
